We have completed a variety of projects from new-build dwellings and whole house renovations to single storey extensions.
New Dwellighouse, Little Hadham

A new 3-bed dwelling within the rear garden of the client's home. There were a number of constraints including being a tight infill site, adjacent to a Grade II curtilage and within a conservation area. Light, protection of privacy, natural ventilation and solar gain were also considerations.
House Extension, Albury
The client had owned the property for a number of years and had already undertaken a number of alterations. However, they wanted to maximise the potential of the property and had a very clear vision of the space that they wanted to create. The proposals included a single storey ground floor extension to create a new living room connected to the existing kitchen/dining area and a first floor extension to improve the existing bedroom layouts.
Refurbishment of Old Jail, Buntingford
To the rear of the Grade II listed Old Police Station sat two police cells and exercise yard laying redundant. The client wanted to refurbish the cells to provide a utility room and office and replace the glazed roof to the exercise yard to provide an additional flexible living space. An existing covered walkway was also partially enclosed to provide an internal link between the house and cell block.
Conversion of Grade II listed barn located within a conservation area.
The barn is located in the grounds of the client's family and they wanted to make a long-term family home with annex. With a number of original features to preserve, the accommodation was flipped with an open-plan living/kitchen/dining area created at first floor level to make the most of the timber trusses. A master suite and ground floor annex provide the client with flexible sleeping accommodation to suit their needs.
Barn Conversion, Standon
House Extension, Little Hadham
A single and two-storey extension to increase the size of the kitchen, provide a utility room and dining room and improve the connection to the existing living space. At first floor level a fourth bedroom with en-suite was created.
New Dwellinghouse, Bury Green
A new dwelling on the site of a disused agricultural building. The site is very open with views across the open countryside to the south. Large overhangs provide external covered areas whilst preventing the property from becoming overheated. The client opted to use ICF (Insulated Concrete Formwork) for the primary structure of the dwelling and an air source heat pump with MVHR.
The property is currently under construction.
